Speech Language Pathologist
Sima Khadem, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a licensed and board certified Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist. She is the founder of Crossroads Speech and Language Pathology Services, Inc., a pediatric private practice in West Los Angeles, California.
Certifications
As a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist, Sima holds a national certification of clinical competence in speech language pathology. She is a member of both the American Speech and Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and the California Speech and Language Hearing Association (CSHA).
Born and raised in Santa Monica, California, Sima planted her roots in sunny southern California and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCLA. Soon after graduating, she went on to earn a Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from California State University, Los Angeles.
Her career began as a Floortime Therapist specializing in the preschool-age populations with a variety of special needs. Her graduate clinical work at LAUSD entailed working with preschool and elementary aged children with a diverse range of disorders including: Childhood Apraxia, Articulation Disorders, and Receptive and Expressive Language Disorders. As a therapist, Sima’s clinical experience focused on early intervention and pediatric speech and language services for children with a variety of needs including: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disorders, Articulation Disorders, Cleft Lip and Palate, and Pragmatic Language Disorders.
Sima has over 10 years of experience working with toddlers and children with varying therapeutic needs. Sima is a Hanen (It Takes Two to Talk) and Hanen (More than Words) certified speech language pathologist and is trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets). As a private practitioner, Sima works collaboratively with parents, schools, and other professionals involved in the child’s progress. Creating a fun, flexible, and rewarding experience for every child is the Crossroads Speech and Language experience.
In her free time, Sima enjoys traveling to new places, playing with her puppy, Kona, and learning how to play golf.
